Your vote is for gaza

EAST MIDLANDS MAYORAL ELECTIONS

2nd May 2024

CANDIDATES WHO YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR

Matt Relf

  • Unequivocal support for ceasefire in Gaza
  • An independent, which means he doesn't belong to any political party. Advantage is he is directly accountable to the voters and doesn't need to align himself to any party policies.
  • He is an Executive Member of Growth, Regeneration and Local Planning at Ashfield council. The council has managed to balance its books despite also receiving considerable cuts from the central government.
  • Implement incentives to encourage PH operators to make greener choices when changing vehicles
  • Will work with local authorities to ensure a greater rollout of electric charging point
  • No intention to implement any ULEZ style schemes. Public transport needs major investment to encourage people to use them
  • Taxis are a core part of public transport. Therefore, as a mayor, he will engage with the taxi representatives to better understand how to support this industry

Frank Adlington-Stringer

  • Supports unequivocal Ceasefire in Gaza
  • Attended Pro Palestine Rallies
  • EV's are part of the solution. Need to be looking at alternatives such as Hydrogen.
  • There should be more government support for transitioning to sustainable fuel cars, e.g more research to help bring costs down
  • Better suppport and incentivise to install more EV charging port in car parks.
  • Would not suppport congesion charge. Instead invest in public transport network

Taxi and PH are important part of local economy. Will encourage people to use taxis, buses, bikes, trains and trams

  • Labour party is rampant in Islamophobia, which it still hasn't resolved.
